Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention
DLA is dedicated to fostering healthy relationships and preventing violence among military teens. We understand the unique challenges faced by our families, including frequent moves and deployments, which can sometimes make it harder for young people to build strong support networks. Through initiatives coordinated by the Family Advocacy Program, we offer workshops, seminars, and outreach events designed to empower teenagers, parents, and our community with the ability to recognize the red flags of unhealthy relationships, such as controlling behaviors, intimidation, and isolation. Our goal is to promote open conversations about what constitutes respect and healthy boundaries.
Each February, during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, you’ll see us organizing special events and campaigns to underscore the importance of dignity and respect in all adolescent relationships and cultivate a culture where abuse is never tolerated.
