About Columbus
Welcome to Columbus
From its origins as The Columbus General Depot in 1918 supporting the Allied Expeditionary Forces to its current role as the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), our installation has a long and distinguished history of supporting U.S. service members. After several name changes, the installation became known as the Defense Supply Center Columbus in 1962. Today, our 500-acre site hosts 33 tenant organizations and serves as Columbus hub for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Weapons Support. With over 2,700 employees, DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) manages over two million unique inventory parts, providing critical weapons system and platform support to U.S. forces and federal agencies globally. We are a unique installation that capitalizes on the synergy of state, federal and defense organizations such as the Ohio National Guard and Reserves, the Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center (VACC) , the Defense Finance and Accounting Service , and Defense Information Systems Agency , which are collocated on or near the site. DSCC’s dedication to service has earned it the prestigious 2024 Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence.
