The Defense Logistics Agency at Richmond provides a variety of quality health, fitness, and leisure programs & activities to all patrons eligible to utilize the facilities. 

Our Fitness Center is open six days per week, this 18,000 Sq. Ft. fitness facility at DLA Richmond features a 14-station Nautilus circuit, full line of free weights and weight-plated equipment, two cardio-respiratory exercise rooms housing a wide variety of state-of-the-art equipment, a regulation multi-purpose gymnasium floor, racquetball court, locker room & shower facilities, saunas, steam room and lockers.

MWR is looking for qualifies instructors to run paid fitness classes. Help Wanted for Group Fitness classes that include Boot Camp, Yoga, Aerobics and spin. Instructor must have a  certification and be available to teach classes Tuesday & Thursday at either 5:30am-7:30am, 11:00am-1:00pm or 4:00pm-7:00pm

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The CDC is currently closed through April 3rd. CDC staff will provide any updates directly to the parents.

The CDC will not charge patrons for services during the closure period. Any accounts which have already have been paid will be credited at a later date. Any future billing will not occur until the center has reopened.  

I understand this is frustrating and that this decision will inconvenience our families that we serve; however, this was the best decision to maintain the safety and well-being of our children in the CDC.

AAFES OPERATIONS

  • EXCHANGE EXPRESS UPDATES: (updated 3/19/20) The AAFES Exchange Express will remain open normal business hours, however, Snack Ave. is closed and Stripes Alterations is now only open Mondays 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • FAMILY HAIR CARE CLOSED: (updated 3/19/20) AAFES Family Hair Care (Beauty Salon & Barber Shop) are closed until further notice.

  • FOOD TRUCK OPERATION SUSPENDED: (updated 3/19/20) AAFES Food Truck Operations at the DSCC will be suspended until April 20 (date subject to change).

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

  • CDC CLOSURE: (updated 3/13/20) Following the news of Governor DeWine closing public schools for three weeks,  the Defense Supply Center Columbus Child Development Center (CDC) will be closed beginning on Monday, March 16, due to an unplanned shortage of child care provider personnel.  We are staffed to accommodate children of active duty military families only at this time. Until further notice, the CDC will be closed through Friday, April 3.  Check out our new CDC Story Time page, with virtual story time videos!

FOOD SERVICE

  • NO SELF-SERVE FOOD & BEVERAGE: (updated 3/13/20)  In accordance with current Public Health requirements, ALL self-serve food and beverage options at the Defense Supply Center Columbus are suspended until further notice. This includes, but is not limited to, the following at Café 20, Café 21, Building 20 Sundry Store and the AAFES PX Exchange:
    • No self-serve soup, self-serve entrées, or salad bars
    • No self-serve coffee, pump or free pour creamers, syrups, flavors, etc.
    • No personal cups or travel mugs
    • No pump or free pour condiments
    • Self-serve soda (push-button dispensing) is permitted, but NO REFILLS.
  • CAFE EATING AREAS CLOSED:  (updated 3/16/20) The dining areas in cafeterias in Buildings 20 and 21 will be closed until further notice.   Customers can still purchase food and drinks from the cafeteria and can consume these items in break rooms. This is precautionary measure to reduce large gatherings.
  • CAFE 21 CLOSED: (updated 3/17/20) Until further notice, Cafe 21 will be closed due to lack of staffing. Café 20 remains open.

  • BLDG 20 OPS STOP SUNDRY STORE CLOSED:  (updated 3/23/20)  Until further notice, the Building 20 Ops Shop Sundry store is closed.

  • CAFE 20 REMAINS OPEN WITH EXTENDED HOURS: (updated 3/23/20)  Cafe 20 hours will be expanded to 6:30am - 2:30pm.  Meal service will still end at 1:00pm, but cafe will remain open for Grab 'N Go items.

  • TAKE & BAKE MEALS AVAILABLE AT CAFÉ 20: (updated 3/18/20) Café 20 is now offering Take & Bake Meals, Full Order for $34 (feeds 4), Half Order for $17 (feeds 2). Orders must be placed by 1pm each day and picked up by 3:30pm at Café 20. Learn more & order here!

  • BUILDING 11 MICROMARKET REMAINS OPEN: (updated 3/19/20) The Building 11 MicroMarket remains open 24/7, with a full selection of food and beverages available.

    RECREATION

    • EAGLE EYE CLOSURE:  (updated 3/24/20)  Eagle Eye Golf Course Club House is closed until further notice.  Honor's Box is available when Shelter in Place order is lifted, weather permitting.
    • FITNESS CENTER CLOSURE:  (updated 3/16/20) following recent guidance regarding reducing large gatherings, the DSCC-MWR Fitness Center is closed until further notice. Check out our NEW Virtual Workouts page.

    BREAKFAST BARS: An expansive menu selection of all your breakfast favorites.  Our breakfast hot bar is open from 6:30AM – 9:30AM and includes eggs, pork and turkey sausages, assorted breakfast potatoes, biscuits, and more!     AFC SUSHI: Our sushi is made fresh daily by one of AFC’s talented on-site chefs! Everyday we offer various kinds of fresh sushi for all enthusiasts.  Selections are made fresh every day and, if you don't see something you like, your favorites can be made to order.

    SIMPLY TO GO: For our customers who are in a hurry! Our grab and go section offers salads, sandwiches, wraps, fruit cups, parfaits, and more. Available all day!

    Take Home Meals

    TAKE HOME MEALS: Available Monday – Thursday!  Take a night off or give your spouse a break from cooking. Meals are for multiples of 2 OR 4 people and include: entrée, 2 vegetables/starch, dinner rolls, and cookies. Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance. See a manager for order forms.

    Safety Tips

    • Obey all traffic laws.  Bicycles are vehicles; "drive" your bike accordingly.
    • Ride with traffic.
    • Wear a properly fitted helmet.
    • Before riding, always check the tires and brakes.
    • Signal turns.
    • Ride respectfully--single file, allowing cars to pass when it is safe.
    • Be predictable--don't pass stopped or moving cars on the right.
    • Wear something light and bright, such as a yellow or orange reflective vest.
    • Respect pedestrians, do not ride on sidewalks.
    • Do not ride in the "door zone" to avoid getting hit by a parked car's opening door.

    Rules and Restrictions

    • MWR Ride to Wellness Bicycles are not authorized to go off the Installation, and must remain on the Installation at all times.  If you are interested in renting a bike to use off Installation, check out our Rental Center.
    • Bicycles may be checked out for a maximum of 1 hour during normal business hours.
    • Patrons must return bikes to the original location.
    • Riders must obey Installation traffic laws.  Bikes are not permitted on sidewalks or grass areas.  See bike route maps available at checkout.
    • If a mechanical issue occurs (flat tire, broken chair, etc.), please call (614) 692-3084 for assistance (contact information is located on the bikes).
    • Use of cell phones, smart devices, head phones or other listening devices is prohibited while using bicycles.  This does NOT include hearing aids.
    • Bicyclists need to wear protective/reflective equipment, including a reflective vest or belt (reflective vests are available for use at checkout) and helmet (patrons must bring their own helmets). 
    • Fully enclosed shoes must be worn while using bicycles.

    Who is authorized to use the pool?

    Active Duty, Veterans, Civilians, Contractors and their family members

    Is there a Kid Pool Area?

    Unfortunately, this year the kiddie pool will not be opening due to maintenance issues.

    Can children be left alone to swim?

    Children must be at least 16 years or older to be unaccompanied. Any child under the age of 16  must remain with a legal guardian or vacate the pool premises.  

    Will there be any pool side snacks available?

    No, snacks and beverages will not be available for purchase.

    Are there showers or dressing rooms?

    Yes there are locker room and shower facilities located in the Community Center (Barn) available for use by pool patrons.

    Can the pool be rented out for parties?

    Yes, the pool will be available for party rentals. More details will be posted as they become available. 

    Will pool passes be available poolside?

    Only daily passes will be available pool side. All other passes will need to be purchased at the Tickets & More, Bldg. 46 Monday - Friday from 8:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

    Will there be any water aerobics or swim lessons offered?

    No classes or water aerobics will be offered at this time

    Can anyone utilize the pool pavilion and adjacent playground?

    Only pool pass holders are eligible to utilize the pavilion and playground facilities.

    Is food, drink & cooking allowed in the pavilion/playground area?

    Drinks and snack are authorized on the premises, however cooking and outside catering is prohibited.

    Are alcohol and bottled drinks allowed?

    All alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are strictly prohibited from the premises.

    Are inflatable rafts and other toys allowed in the pool?

    No inflatables are allowed due to safety concerns.

    Automotive Mechanics / Workers

    As an Automotive Mechanic / Worker, the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Identifying improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement using on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment.
    • Installing, adjusting and setting automotive systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and tests the completed product.
    • Determining whether parts should be cleaned or replaced.

    Regular part-time (RPT) and Flexible (Flex) positions may be available.

    Waiters (Banquets) / Cooks

    The Susquehanna Club is always looking for new members to join their team.

    As a Cook, the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Preparing a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements.
    • Following health and safety precautions to ensure safe preparation and storage of food items.
    • Monitoring and maintaining appropriate temperature of all food items throughout preparation and service.
    • Picking up items needed for menu preparation, rotating food inventories as appropriate.

    As a(n) Waiter (Banquets), the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Servicing banquets guests either by providing for set menu banquets or taking individual orders.
    • Setting up and breaking down banquet settings.
    • Replenishing beverages

    Regular part-time (RPT) and Flexible (Flex) positions may be available.

    Recreation Assistant / Aid (Physical Fitness)

    As a Recreation Assistant (Physical Fitness), the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:
    • Demonstrating work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program.
    • Being able to maintain a Fitness or Personal Trainer Certificate.

    As a Recreation Aid (Physical Fitness), the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following

    • Issuing tools, equipment and games to authorized customers at the Fitness Center.
    • Checking identification, collects fees when appropriate, and completes appropriate documentation.
    • Receiving returned items, inspecting for obvious damage and missing parts.
    • Assisting in directing patrons, scheduling the use of courts, lanes and equipment.
    • Providing facility and program information to patrons. Assisting with simple repair and maintenance.

    Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard)

    As a Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard), the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Performing life guarding duties and employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
    • Rescuing swimmers and administers first aid, as required.
    • Keeping accurate records and adequate supplies.
    • Attending nationally recognized lifeguard training and obtaining certification.
    • Assisting in preparing the pool to open for the season.

    These are Flexible (Flex) and Seasonal positions.

    Child & Youth Program Assistants (CYPA)

    As a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more CYS programs, the incumbent at the Target Level-4 would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:
    • Maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
    • Interacting with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques
    • Supervising children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events.
    • Promoting and modeling safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices.

    As a developmental position, all employees conduct the same duties; however, the Entry Level-2 and Skill Level-3 employees are provided additional oversight, guidance, and training until they can perform the Target Level duties independently.

    • Regular part-time (RPT) and Flexible (Flex) positions may be available.
    • CYPAs work directly with children and youth to deliver a meaningful, safe program experience.
    • CYPAs must be trustworthy, able to maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times and have the desire to be a positive influence on children and youth.
    • CYPAs receive thorough training and have opportunities to grow as a professional.

    Child & Youth Program Food Service Workers

    This position supports all children and youth registered at CYP by serving food by order and proper proportion in order to deliver a meaningful, safe program experience. The purpose of this position is to augment the kitchen staff during summer and school vacation times. This position will predominately be scheduled only during summer and school vacation times.

    Operations Assistants

    As an Operations Assistant, the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Assisting management with the operation of facility in accordance with established procedures.
    • Issuing, receiving and controlling cash receipts and change funds.
    • Verifying cash count of funds turned in by cashiers.
    • Determining cash shortage or overages, assuring only authorized patrons utilize the facilities.
    • Completing Daily Activity Report, fire safety checks and securing the facility.

    Regular part-time (RPT) and Flexible (Flex) positions may be available.

    Food and Beverage Attendants

    As a Food and Beverage Attendant, the incumbent would be responsible for duties such as, but not limited to, the following:

    • Preparing and combining fruits and vegetables for salads;
    • Making simple sandwiches and performs other simple food preparation;
    • Processing and organizing food,arranges garnishes, checks for appearance, quality and quantity and ensures proper presentation.
    • Cleaning kitchen utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, as well as sweeping and mopping the floor.

    Level One: Introduction to Water Skills

    Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.

    Level Two: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills

    Children will learn basic swimming skills.

    Level Three: Stroke Development

    Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.

    Level Four: Stroke Improvement

    Children will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.

    Level Five: Stroke Refinement

    Guidance allows children to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.

    Level Six: Swimming and Skill Proficiency

    Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances. Swimmers will also have the option to participate in more advanced courses.

    How can I reserve a room?
    Currently Rooms can only be reserved in person at the Tickets & More office or over the phone.

    If I am coming after hours how do I pay?
    You can pay ahead by phone or we will provide you with an envelope to pace your cash or check payment. Personal check payers must put their social security numbers on the check.

    How do I get in my room if I am coming after hours?
    We will send you a reservation confirmation email that will contain key box number, location and pin access number. What to expect during Check In & Check Out
