Family Program

Program Description

To provide oversight and guidance for the integration of DLA Family Programs.
The DLA Family Program was designed to contribute to the Agency’s mission and improve productivity through promoting family well-being and enhancing the quality of life for the DLA workforce. DLA Family Programs ensures that Department of Defense (DoD) personnel and their families are provided a quality of life that reflects the high standards and pride of the Nation that they defend and support.

The DLA Enterprise Support Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (FMWR) Directorate administers and manages the Family Programs through the development of policies and procedures for Agency-unique program issues, ensuring compliance with numerous DoD, Public Law, and U.S. Army issuances.

Who We Serve

DLA Family Programs offer a diverse range of services to single and married service members, DoD civilians, Reserves/National Guard, and their families.

Support Programs

The core baseline Family Programs are Family Advocacy Program (FAP, Prevention), Deployment Assistance Program (DAP), Emergency Family Assistance Program (EFA), and Relocation Assistance Program (RAP). Information and Referral is interspersed throughout the aforementioned core areas.

Family Advocacy

Prevention functions and intervention referrals FAP is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary resource that is designed to address child abuse and domestic abuse within the Defense Logistics Agency community through prevention, intervention, and appropriate referral.

The program provides a variety of services to military members, civilian employees, and their families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life.

Deployment Readiness

Deployment Readiness for active duty and expeditionary civilian and deployment resources and services for family members and other war fighter sustainers.  

DAP services are offered to support military members, civilian expeditionary, and family members before, during, and after deployment to promote positive adjustment to deployment, family separation, and family reunion.  Family programs staff and DLA Force Providers work together to support the overall needs of the DLA deploying force.

Emergency Family Assistance

The Family Program Manager coordinates with internal and external entities to support  Emergency Family Assistance efforts that would serve the DLA community and their families during an all-hazards event. EFA is designed to perform outreach and match the needs of impacted families with community and military resources and services during an all-hazards event.

Relocation Readiness

Relocation service is available to military members and their families who are ordered to permanently change station (PCS).  Services include individualized consult and information and referral.  Each DLA site maintains site information with the Military Installations platform on Military OneSource.  This information contains specific and important site information that is readily available 24/7.
