2025–2026 McNamara Cup Competition
The Summit Challenge is back for the 2025–2026 McNamara Cup! Lace up, take the stairs, and push yourself (or your team!) to new heights. Whether you’re climbing solo or teaming up with colleagues, this 6-week challenge will test your endurance, determination, and consistency—one floor at a time.
Choose Your Mountain
Participants will climb one of the following peaks—either as an individual or as a team of four. Your goal: reach the top by accumulating the equivalent number of “floors climbed.”
| Peak | Elevation (ft) | Floors to Climb |
| Mount Wrightson | 9,456 ft | 945 floors |
| Mount Rainier | 14,411 ft | 1,411 floors |
| Mount Everest | 29,031 ft | 2,903 floors |
Each floor climbed = 10 feet.
The Individual Challenge
You will have 6 weeks to conquer the mountain of your choice:
- Wrightson (945 floors)
- Rainier (1,411 floors)
- Everest (2,903 floors)
Climb solo, set your pace, and summit your mountain by March 30!
The Team Challenge
Teams of up to 4 individuals will work together to reach the top.
- All team members must be from within the same Agency
- Choose a peak: Wrightson, Rainier, or the mighty Everest
- Divide the floors however you want—just make sure everyone participates to stay eligible for awards
Teamwork makes the climb possible!
Registration
Registration Period:
January 16 – February 11, 2026
- Register at the Fitness Center as an individual or a team of up to 4
- Select ONE mountain challenge: Wrightson, Rainier, or Everest
- Team members must all belong to the same Agency
How Floors Are Counted
- Each flight climbed upward counts as 1 floor
- Basement → 1st floor = 1.5 floors
- Example: Lower Level → 4th Floor = 4.5 floors
- Only upward floors count (no counting stairs walked down)
- Only stairs climbed during the workday count
- Stair-Climber in the lower cardio area is allowed
- Stair-Stepper upstairs does NOT count
Weekly Tracking
- Weeks run Monday through Friday
- Individuals track floors climbed daily
- At the end of each week, participants turn in their log sheet to their team captain
- Team captains must submit compiled results to the program leader no later than Tuesday of the following week
Winning the Summit Challenge
Winners are determined by:
- The individual and team that reach their selected mountain peak fastest
- All team members must contribute floors for the team to be eligible
Pace yourself, stay consistent, and push toward the peak!
