{"id":113,"date":"2025-04-10T08:38:30","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T08:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.defensemwr.com\/susquehanna\/?post_type=event&#038;p=113"},"modified":"2025-05-29T11:40:25","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T11:40:25","slug":"directors-cup-series-regatta-race","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.defensemwr.com\/susquehanna\/event\/directors-cup-series-regatta-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Commander&#8217;s Cup Series Regatta Race"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 Commander&#8217;s Cup Series continues on\u00a0<strong>August 14th<\/strong>\u00a0at the Fitness Center with the Regatta Race!\u00a0<br><br><strong>Regatta Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Materials and Construction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teams will be provided with a standard set of materials for boat construction (e.g., cardboard, tape, scissors).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No external materials are allowed unless specified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams have 1 hour to build their boats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each boat must fit within a 4&#215;6 foot footprint when completed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boats must be human-powered (e.g., by paddling or rowing)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least one team member must always stay with the boat during the building phase to ensure safety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lifeguards will be on duty, and their instructions must be followed at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Race Structure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The regatta will consist of two heats and a final race.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams will be randomly assigned to each heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The top 2 teams from each heat will advance to the final race.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the event of a tie, a sudden death race will determine the advancing team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;Race Rules<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Each boat must have at least one team member onboard during the race.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boats must be propelled using the means provided during the building phase (e.g., paddles made from cardboard and tape).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intentional ramming or interference with other boats is prohibited and will result in disqualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams must complete the race without assistance from non-team members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judging and Scoring<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The race will be timed, and the fastest time to complete the course will determine the winner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to speed, boats will be judged on creativity, design, and teamwork.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional points will be awarded for innovative use of materials and team spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disqualification<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Any team found using unauthorized materials will be disqualified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to sabotage, will result in immediate disqualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teams must adhere to all safety rules; failure to do so will result in disqualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Race course<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teams must navigate from the starting line to the finish line without leaving the course boundaries (no holding onto the sides of the pool).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any boat that veers off course must be returned to the point where it left the course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Awards and Prizes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prizes will be awarded for:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overall Winning Team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Team Spirit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Conduct<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and courteously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The event coordinators&#8217; decisions are final and binding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy the regatta and may the best team win!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1485,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":true,"_kad_blocks_custom_css":"","_kad_blocks_head_custom_js":"","_kad_blocks_body_custom_js":"","_kad_blocks_footer_custom_js":"","_kad_post_transparent":"","_kad_post_title":"","_kad_post_layout":"","_kad_post_sidebar_id":"","_kad_post_content_style":"","_kad_post_vertical_padding":"","_kad_post_feature":"","_kad_post_feature_position":"","_kad_post_header":false,"_kad_post_footer":false,"_kad_post_classname":""},"event-category":[],"class_list":["post-113","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
