The penultimate event in this year’s  Director’s Cup Series is the Punt, Pass and Kick competition! 

Rules\/Procedures<\/strong>

Footwear: Athletic shoes & rubber cleats are permitted. Shoes with metal spikes are not permitted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ball Sizes:<\/strong> Participants are required to use the balls and kicking tees provided by the Fitness Center staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Standard Size or Equivalent (Participant can use a bigger ball size then league recommended for age group, but not smaller)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation:<\/strong> Each participant will be allowed two<\/strong> (2) punts<\/strong>, two (2) passes<\/strong>, and two (2) placekicks<\/strong>as part of his\/her competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants are allowed ten (10)<\/strong> seconds to attempt each event element from the time the event official blows their whistle. Participants may not use more than a three (3)<\/strong> step approach for all events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a participant goes over the starting line prior to or before releasing or making contact with the football, a penalty of five (5) feet<\/strong> will be assessed against his\/her score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exception: In the place-kicking event, a participant may go over the starting line without penalty provided the kicking tee is placed on or behind the starting line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no violation if the kicking tee is kicked with the football during the kicking event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a participant tries to punt, pass, or kick and misses the football completely, it DOES NOT count as an attempt and another attempt is allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoring:<\/strong> Scores are based on both distance and accuracy. Distance is simply how far the football is punted, thrown, or kicked from the starting line. Accuracy is how far from the scoring line the football lands. Scores will be determined from where a participant\u2019s punt\/pass\/kick first makes contact with the ground. Bounces or rolls do not add to the score.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PUNT \/ PASS \/ KICK SKILLS CHALLENGE RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example: If a participant passes the football 100 feet, but the football lands 30 feet to the right of the measuring tape, the final score would be 100-30 = 70. Scores will be based on exact feet and inches (no partial inches, round to nearest inch). No participate will receive a negative score instead their score will be \u201c0\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participant\u2019s top score<\/strong> for punting, passing, and kicking will be taken and added together for a cumulative total. A participant\u2019s final score is his\/her cumulative total for the three individual events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Example: If a participant scores (40)<\/strong> for punting, (45)<\/strong> for passing, and (50)<\/strong> for kicking, the participant\u2019s final score is 135<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the event of a tie for first, second, or third place, each tied participant will compete in a playoff to determine the final standings. In the playoff, everyone involved will compete head-to-head again in all three events. During the playoff competition, each participant is allowed one (1)<\/strong> punt, one (1)<\/strong> pass, and one (1)<\/strong> placekick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Set up is done prior; by marking the field lines and distances.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The contestants score will be tracked (see diagram) by a Fitness Center staff member.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The contestant with the highest point total will be the Punt, Pass & Kick Skills Challenge Champion!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
