The Housing Office currently provides support to those military families and sponsors already residing on the installation. Applications from inbound sponsors for housing assignments are no longer accepted.
***Family Housing has begun the process of closing operations and will no longer provide permanent housing for service members and their dependents newly assigned to Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna and military activities within a one-hour commute. We apologize for the inconvenience.***
Military members can apply for government housing at Carlisle Barracks or Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mechanicsburg.

Family Housing Waiting List

All service members interested in being placed on the Housing Waiting List must proceed by filling out a DD Form 1746-Housing Application (pdf) and provide a copy of your orders to the appropriate Housing Office at either Carlisle Barracks or Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mechanicsburg.

Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna Family Housing is committed to providing exceptional and timely maintenance service to our family housing residents. Our goal is to keep your home safe and functional. Below are items available in our self-help center. The self-help center is located in the Family Housing Office, Building 400, during operating hours.
It is recommended that residents bring the item they are replacing with them to ensure they receive the correct item.
- A/C Filters
- Specialty Bulbs
- Range Hood Filters
- Door Stops
- Toilet Paper Holders/Seats
- Sink Stoppers
- Switch Plates/Outlet Plates
- Touch Up Paint
- Batteries for Smoke Detectors
If you are in need of maintenance assistance for any other reason not mentioned above, please proceed by submitting a Routine Maintenance Request by clicking the below.
Moving to a new city can be challenging. To help smooth the process, Family Housing offers assistance by providing basic household items that may be borrowed from the Military Loan Closet as a part of the Relocation Readiness Program.
Military Loan Closet items are available for service members to utilize until your military household goods arrive from storage or in-transit across CONUS assignments.
Loan Closet items are also available for use during Out-Processing transitions prior to departing to your next duty assignment location.
Available Items Include:
- Kitchen – plates, cups, bowls, silverware, pots & pans, can opener, coffee pots, toasters, electric frying pans, casserole dishes, roasting pans, baking pans, baking muffin tins, and measuring cups.
- Household – futons, tables, chairs, ironing boards, irons, vacuum cleaners, and safety gates.
- Infants – strollers, high chairs, cribs, infant car seats, toddler car seats and booster seats.
