The mission of Family Programs at Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is prevention, identification, and reporting of child abuse and domestic violence within the military community. The primary emphasis of the DSCR Family Programs office is the promotion of healthy family interactions through the offering of seminars, classes, workshops, resources, and referral information. These prevention services are open to all employees at DSCR. To accomplish the program mission Family Programs:

  • Promotes public awareness of child and domestic abuse
  • Offers services and programs related to parenting as well as couple and family communication
  • Promotes systems that will encourage the recognition and reporting of abuse as early as possible
  • Coordinates therapeutic treatment for affected family members when child and domestic abuse occurs in military families
  • Provides referrals to assist all families affected by child and domestic abuse
  • Conducts training for professionals at DSCR
