The mission of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) at the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) is prevention, identification and reporting of child abuse and domestic violence with the military community. The primary emphasis of the DSCR FAP office is the promotion of healthy family interactions through the offering of seminars, classes, workshops, resources and referral information. These prevention services are open to all employees at DSCR. To accomplish the program mission the Family Advocacy program:


  • Promotes public awareness of child and domestic abuse
  • Offers services and programs related to parenting, couple and family communication
  • Promotes systems that will encourage the recognition and reporting of abuse as early as possible
  • Coordinates therapeutic treatment for affected family members when child and domestic abuse occurs in military families
  • Provides referrals to assist all families affected by child and domestic abuse
  • Conducts training for professionals at DSCR
