Come Join MWR Nature Hike Club at Woodland Nature Preserve  on September 14, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM. The Hike Club meets once a month to spend some time in nature while getting some exercise. This trail is popular for birding, fishing, and hiking. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 56 min to complete the 2.9-mile loop. Asylum Lake Preserve is a place with old trees, prairies, lakes, special plants, animals, making up an irreplaceable ecosystem. This is why it is considered a “preserve” and not a “park.” The property serves as a research area for professors and students of anthropology, biology, geography, hydrogeology, and environmental studies at WMU as well as other educational institutions. Each hike will be at a different trailhead to make each hike a unique experience.

Meeting address: (3836 S Drake Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49008)

Dogs are allowed on the property but must always be leashed, including in the water. Make sure to bring your own water bottle and dress for the weather. Feel free to invite your friends and family to join us for some fresh air.
