Join MWR on Friday, March 9th from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM for National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Spotlight with Lynn Petzold. Join this visual journey to learn more about NOLS and our leadership model which includes four leadership roles, seven leadership skills and one signature style. Our alumni include NASA astronauts, executives, MBA students, scholarship programs, high school students and affinity groups for women, LGBQT and POC populations.
NOLS is a nonprofit global wilderness school that seeks to help students step forward boldly as a leader. Our mission is to be the leading source and teacher of wilderness skills and leadership that serve people and the environment. Lynn has logged over 350 field weeks on backpacking and sea kayaking expeditions during the past 25 years. Lynn facilitates experiences where people connect to self,
community and wild spaces while teaching leadership/ risk management/wilderness skills and cultural/environmental history.
Her work has led her to wilderness areas in Alaska, Washington, California, Wyoming, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Patagonia, New Zealand, Norway, Croatia, Mexico, Bahamas, Canada, Thailand and Bhutan. Lynn is certified as a wilderness first responder, yoga instructor and equity informed mediator. She lives in Seattle, WA where she enjoys paddling and hiking in the Pacific Northwest.
